ANTONIO PALACIOS AWARDS · O PORRIÑO

The company was recognised at the ceremony held on Saturday 13 June in the town hall square as a flagship of O Porriño’s industrial heritage and an international ambassador for the town since its founding in 1966.

CEAMSA (Compañía Española de Algas Marinas, S.A.) received the Antonio Palacios Business Award —the highest distinction granted by the municipality of O Porriño— at a gala held on Saturday 13 June in the square in front of the town hall, attended by hundreds of residents. The selection committee highlighted the company’s long-standing commitment to innovation and technological development, its position as an international benchmark in the natural texturisers sector, and its global footprint.

The third edition of the Antonio Palacios Awards honours outstanding contributions in the fields of Culture, Business, Sport, Social Commitment and the Honorary Award. This year, the Honorary Award was given posthumously to Dora Carrera, founder of the Érguete Association; the Sports Award went to footballer Gabri Veiga; the Culture Award to O Xogo da Ola; and the Social Commitment Award to the Rosais Association. The evening became a heartfelt journey through more than half a century of local history.

Sixty years of industrial heritage

Founded in 1966 and headquartered in O Porriño, CEAMSA was the first company to establish itself in the As Gándaras industrial estate, which it helped bring to life. Six decades on, the company has built a track record rooted in quality, research and a strong commitment to the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries, exporting to more than ninety countries while preserving the family character that has defined it from the very beginning.

During the ceremony, the Mayor of O Porriño, Alejandro Lorenzo, summed up the recognition as follows:

«CEAMSA represents the excellence of our industry, carrying the name of O Porriño around the world»

— Alejandro Lorenzo, Mayor of O Porriño

A recognition that places the company among the historic drivers of the town’s economic, social and industrial development.

A message of thanks from CEAMSA

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the Antonio Palacios Award, the highest recognition our town can give. We receive this honour with particular pride —not only for what it means to our company, but also for the deep bond that has tied us to this land for decades.

Contributing to the economic, social and industrial growth of O Porriño has always been a commitment we have taken on with responsibility and closeness. Our sincere thanks to the Town Council and to everyone who considered CEAMSA worthy of such a special distinction. Carrying the name of Antonio Palacios makes this award all the more meaningful, given everything it represents for the identity and history of our town.

This recognition belongs to every person who is, and has been, part of CEAMSA throughout our history.
